Paint a Notebook
I love notebooks, journals, planners, and all things paper, and I have a lot of them!….but I can always use another! So, after I saw Elyce Arons notebook, from Frances Valentine, on one of her reels I knew I had to recreate it! For some reason I can’t find a pic of hers anywhere, but I’ll keep looking.
I found this notebook on Amazon at a great price so it was an easy choice! I loved the way it looked originally too, but I decided to go for it and paint with acrylic pens and make it a piece of art!

Painting with Acrylic Pens
This is the first time using acrylic pens so I was nervous at first but it so smoothly! I was surprised at how easy they were to use. Highly recommend trying them out! So many colors too!
I knew I wanted red flowers that resembled poppies so I went with red orange colors!
I’m so happy!
Once I got started I loved how easy it was, after the nerves went away anyway! I found out real fast that I needed to stay with the grain or the pen tip would catch on the flowers threads. I started outlining each flower, then did the same for the leaves. It took longer than I thought but in general it was pretty fast. I love projects that are fast but this one made me slow down a little…..
I enjoyed the process even more and stayed present with each stroke.

Things You’ll Need:
- Notebook
- Acrylic Pens
- Drop Cloth
This Painted Notebook project doesn’t need much except a notebook and acrylic pens. These are the ones I used, but there’s so many to choose from on Amazon, possibilities are endless.

Finishing Up!
As usual I get busy in the project and forget to take pictures! Not happy about that but I’ll continue to try to do better! I recommend trying this project, it would be a fun gift too, but this one is mine forever!
I love the size and colors! I painted the background more of a blue / green rather than the light blue and it really makes the flowers pop! And, the leaves got some love and more flair too!

What ya think!? I’m in love with this and I look forward to writing in it often! Not exactly sure what I’m using it for but I’m sure I’ll have fun figuring it out!

Let me know if you decide to make your own, and I’d love to see!
