Watercolor Perpetual Birthday Calendar

New to our shop this year is our Watercolor Perpetual Celebration Calendar from our Celebration Collection and I’m so excited about it! I’ve wanted to created this for the last two years and couldn’t find the time to sit down and sketch out designs, until I ‘made’ time a few months ago! I’m so glad I decided to get this project front and center because I’m in love with it!

I wasn’t sure what I wanted to paint for the Celebration Collection. I sketched some drawing out but they were hitting the vibe I was going for, so I sketched some cakes out and fell in love with them, added flowers and it was a go! Can’t go wrong with cake and flowers!

Just look at those metallic paints! I really enjoy playing with the golds for each cake.

September Birthday Month

Each month has a different cake design that goes with the monthly theme or season. We have birth month flowers so of course we need birth month cakes right! See, I knew you’d agree with me!

Here’s the first draft of printing and I was over the moon with how they turned out! I wasn’t sure how to bind them but I was working on it. I purchased a wire binding machine last year just for these calendars so I decided to go for it. The machine scared me but I quickly learned how to use it after some trial and error.

I tried the black wire that came with the machine but I wasn’t impressed with it at all, so I ordered gold wire and I was very happy with the end result!

So much better! The wire was a little small so back to Amazon I went to get the correct size! Don’t mind my black nail! My finger was smashed by a printer, it was painful! It’s all grown out and gone now.

Oh yea, that look much better and each page flips easily. I’m so happy with how this turned out, the paper is velvety smooth, gold wire and pretty cakes, what could be better!?

Overall, I’m very happy with how this project turned out! Sometimes I’m hit with an idea and vision of exactly what a new product will look like, but I let fear and lack of confidence get in the way, which leads to procrastination. In the end, I’m grateful I finally follow through, even if it’s later than hoped! I’m a work in progress and continue to push through walls to achieve my goals!
